ABSTRACT:
This 15 page paper creates a Machiavellian Archetype and applies the model to three recent situations: the war in Iraq, the 2000 presidential election and the 1994 Republican takeover. Current events and specific people like Newt Gingrich and George Bush are discussed as it respects the archetype. Recent situations are evaluated in respect to what Machiavelli wrote in the sixteenth century. Bibliography lists 25 sources.
